Engineered wood has a top layer of real solid oak bonded to a super-stable plywood base. We recommend Engineered Wood for 90% of Manchester homes because it handles our central heating and humidity much better without warping.

Yes, but only Engineered Wood. Because of its stable construction, engineered planks handle the temperature changes of UFH perfectly. We advise against using Solid Wood with UFH as the heat can cause the planks to cup or crack over time.

In short: Yes. It is a natural product. High heels, dog claws, and grit can mark the surface over time. However, this is the beauty of real wood—it develops character. Unlike laminate or LVT, if a wood floor looks tired after 10 years, it can be sanded down and refinished to look brand new again.
