We recently completed this stunning Engineered Herringbone project in a Didsbury home. The Prep: Notice the grey floor before we start? That is a Latex-Based Damp-Proof Screed. We poured this to ensure the subfloor was perfectly flat and protected from moisture. The Finish: The herringbone pattern flows seamlessly, finished with Solid Oak Skirting Boards for that high-end look.

FAQ – Expert Floor Fitting
Do you move the furniture?
To ensure our fitters can start preparing your subfloor immediately and achieve the best possible finish, we ask that rooms are cleared of furniture prior to our arrival.
However, we understand this isn’t always possible.
- Our team can assist with moving a reasonable amount of empty furniture (e.g., a sofa or dining table).
- Heavy Items: If items are particularly heavy or require two people to lift, please inform us at the point of order so we can allocate the correct time and manpower.
- What We Cannot Move: For insurance and safety reasons, our fitters cannot move white goods (washing machines, fridges), plumbed-in items, or electrical equipment (TVs, stereos). These must be disconnected and moved by you before we arrive.
If you require a full “Room Clearance” service, please ask in the showroom, as this may be arranged as a bespoke paid service.
How long does installation take?
It depends on the prep. A standard room might take 1-2 days. However, if we need to pour a liquid screed (smoothing compound), this usually needs 24 hours to dry before we can lay the floor. We never rush the drying process—that is how floors fail.
Do you offer a warranty on your fitting?
Yes. We are unique in the UK. For selected brands (like Woodpecker and V4), we offer a Matching Installation Warranty. If the manufacturer guarantees the product for 25 years, we guarantee our fitting for 25 years. Peace of mind, guaranteed.
