Frequently Asked Questions — Carpets Manchester

For stairs we recommend a short-pile or loop-pile twist carpet in a mid to heavy-duty weight — typically 40oz or above. Wool blends are particularly hardwearing and maintain their appearance well on high-traffic staircases. If you want a bespoke stair runner with whipping and stair rods rather than a wall-to-wall fit, we’d be happy to talk you through the options during your consultation.

Our premium range covers luxury deep-pile, faux silk, and pure wool carpets — the softest and longest-lasting option, ideal for bedrooms and lounges. Our mid-range collection is our family-friendly tier — hard-wearing, bleach-cleanable, and backed by a 10-year wear and stain warranty. Our affordable range offers excellent value without compromising on fitting quality or underlay specification.

Underlay is the single biggest factor in how long your carpet lasts and how it feels underfoot. A good underlay absorbs impact, reduces noise, improves insulation, and prevents the carpet backing from wearing against the subfloor. We use high-density Cloud 9 or Tredaire underlay on every installation — never a budget substitute.

Yes. The carpets in our family-friendly range are manufactured specifically to be cleaned with a diluted bleach solution — the only truly effective treatment for pet accidents, food stains, and heavy soiling. This is independently verified by the manufacturer and covered under the 10-year warranty.

Yes. We supply stair rods in brass, chrome, and matt black, in a range of styles from traditional to contemporary. They’re fitted as part of our full stair runner service — securing the runner at every tread for a safer finish and a more polished look.

Yes. Every installation comes with our exclusive fitting warranty in addition to the manufacturer’s product warranty. For our family-friendly range, the manufacturer’s wear and stain warranty runs for 10 years. We’ll talk you through the full warranty terms during your consultation.

We don’t recommend carpet for kitchens or bathrooms due to moisture exposure — LVT is a far better choice for those rooms. For every other room in the house, including hallways and stairs, carpet is an excellent option. We can advise on the right product for each specific space during your free home visit.
