A Stunning Parquet Installation for Mr & Mrs Stone

Project Overview We recently had the pleasure of transforming this residence in Cheadle (SK7) with the timeless elegance of engineered parquet flooring. Mr & Mrs Stone wanted a floor that would bring a natural, sophisticated warmth to their lounge, hallway, and dining room while standing up to modern family life.

They selected the V4 Deco Parquet—a precision-engineered oak specifically designed for stability and style. The resulting herringbone pattern flows seamlessly through the ground floor, creating a sense of space and grandeur that only true parquet can achieve.

The Challenge: Precision Floor Preparation As with many local renovations, the secret to this finish wasn’t just the wood—it was what went underneath.

• • Damp Proofing: We applied a liquid Damp Proof Membrane (DPM) to the extension to protect the wood from residual construction moisture.
  • Levelling: Our expert Floor Preparation Team applied Ardex NA smoothing compound to achieve SR1 Standards (Surface Regularity 1). This created a glass-smooth, perfectly level base—essential for intricate parquet work.

The Installation Our professional fitters executed the installation over 3 days, covering 24m² with meticulous attention to detail.

• • The Layout: We centred the herringbone spine to draw the eye down the hallway, creating a “red carpet” effect.
  • The Detail: We installed a single-row border with matched oak threshold strips for a clean transition between rooms.
