PROJECT OVERVIEW: Luxury Flooring Manchester had the honuour of participating in a remarkable home renovation and remodelling project in the serene leafy suburbs of Timperley, Cheshire. Our client was planning a large extension for their home and envisioned a high-end, herringbone-style luxury vinyl parquet floor throughout the entire ground floor. FLOOR SPECIFICATION: To achieve the client’s vision, we meticulously handpicked the finest materials, opting for Karndean Art Select Blonde Oak This exquisite choice boasts rich chocolate tones throughout, making Spanish Cherry the darkest of our Art Select Parquet wood planks – an ideal selection for infusing any residential room with a touch of luxury.

PREPARATION WORK: As with any exceptional project, the subfloor required extensive attention before commencing with the installation. The ground floor was a combination of wood and concrete, necessitating careful levelling. We began the process by installing a damp-proof membrane (DPM) to the concrete substrate. After allowing the DPM to cure for 24 hours, we proceeded with screeding. To achieve a high-level finish surface regularity conforming to SR1 standards, the ground floor required screeding in three stages.

THE INSTALLATION: The installation of this stunning parquet from Karndean’s Art Select range was carried out in a captivating herringbone style. At the client’s request, we incorporated a special double plank border and a walnut inset strip around the perimeter, executed flawlessly by our Advanced Karndean Fitters. The installation covered a total area of 50m2.

THE RESULT: A stunning transformation of the hallway, lounge, open-plan kitchen diner, and utility room. The allure of Karndean parquet flooring elevated the entire ground floor, exuding timeless elegance and sophistication throughout.
